History
Built in 1976 ,unsure of its origins past the previous owner, but I
am assured approximately 25 years ago the gemini was prolific in Australia
. The boat was originally powered by a Ford 3 litre V6 (capri) engine
producing approx. 100 hp at 3800 RPM giving a top speed of 38 MPH with
two 19 degree impellers in the jet pump. Unfortunately this was not
quite good enough, so I replaced it with the P76, providing a speed
of 47 MPH at 4700 RPM with the same set up in the jet. I replaced the
front impeller with a stainless corkscrew dropping 400 RPM and 2 MPH
off the speed, but providing a lot more torque and agility. The boat
comfortably seats five people with a large esky full of supplies without
any great loss of performance. With the flat bottom design of the boat
, it can easily navigate shallow waterways at a depth of only an inch
and a half !!!!
