Hunter River Uplifting

At a full council meeting on the 17th August a motion was put that the QLDC Navigation and Safety bylaw be ammended as follows;

Add new clause 14, Hunter River:

From Lake Hawea to Ferguson Creek  for a 6 week period from 1 November to 12 December inclusive and a further six week period from 19 March to 30 April, that the 5 knot speed restriction be uplifted.

This now allows us to boat the Hunter between these dates only. Note that boating of the river outside of these dates is still forbidden and will be policed by QLDC, especially during the Christmas period.

For further information or clarification contact Eddie McKenzie on Wk [03] 211 3581, Hm [03] 216 0495, Mobile 027201 2111.
